Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Personalized gifts are personal by definition. To make a tumbler with your grandchildren’s names, your wedding date or a photo of your dog, we need information that matters to you, and we take that seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what Cozy Tumbler collects when you visit cozytumbler.com or place an order, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices you have. Cozy Tumbler, 401 Comfort Drive, Williamstown, NJ 08094, US is responsible for the personal information described here. Questions or requests go to support@cozytumbler.com; we reply within 1 business day.
Privacy at a glance
- What we collect: contact, delivery and order details, your personalization text and photos, and basic technical data from your browser.
- Why: to make and deliver your tumbler, answer your questions, prevent fraud and keep the site working.
- Payments: card and wallet details are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout; we never see or store full card numbers.
- Selling data: we do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- Your photos: used only to print your order and resolve problems with it, never in our marketing without your written permission.
- Your rights: ask for a copy, a correction or deletion at any time by email.
Information you give us
When you place an order
To fulfil an order we collect your name, email address, billing address, delivery address, and, if you choose to give it, a phone number for the carrier. We also keep a record of what you ordered, the price, any discount used and the order status.
Your personalization
This is the information that makes a Cozy Tumbler yours: names, nicknames, initials, dates, short messages, and photos you provide for printing. Personalization often contains information about other people, such as children’s first names, a partner’s name or a pet’s name. Please only include information you are comfortable having printed on a gift and seen by our print team. We use it only to produce and check your order.
When you contact us
If you email us or use our Submit a Ticket page, we keep your message, your email address, any photos you attach (for example of a damaged lid) and our replies, so we can follow up and keep a history of your request.
When you create an account
If you create an account, we store your login email, a securely hashed password (we cannot read it), your saved addresses and your order history. You do not need an account to order; guest checkout is available.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, cozytumbler.com receives some technical information whenever you visit: your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request and the time of each request. This information is processed by our hosting server and by Cloudflare, which protects and speeds up the site, and it is used to deliver pages, keep the site secure and detect abuse such as automated attacks.
We do not currently use third-party analytics, advertising pixels or remarketing tags on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy before those tools are switched on, describe them here, and ask for consent where the law requires it.
How we use your information
| Purpose | Information used | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Printing, packing and shipping your tumbler | Order details, personalization, delivery address | Needed to perform our contract with you |
| Proofreading and asking you about unclear personalization | Personalization, email address | Needed to perform our contract with you |
| Order, shipping and tracking emails | Name, email address, order details | Needed to perform our contract with you |
| Answering questions, returns and refunds | Messages, order history, photos you send | Contract and our legitimate interest in good service |
| Preventing fraud and securing the site | Technical data, order and payment status | Legitimate interest and legal obligations |
| Keeping business and tax records | Order and payment records | Legal obligation |
| Marketing emails (only if you opt in) | Email address, first name | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
We do not use your personalization or photos to build profiles about you, and we do not make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run the shop, and only the information each one needs:
- Payment provider: the provider shown at checkout processes your payment directly and applies its own privacy policy. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as the card type and last four digits, never the full card number.
- Carriers and postal services: your name, delivery address and, if provided, phone number and email, so they can deliver your parcel and send delivery updates.
- Production partners: the people who print and pack tumblers see your personalization and photos so they can print them.
- Hosting and infrastructure: our web host and Cloudflare process site traffic and store data on our behalf.
- Email service: used to send order and support emails.
- Authorities: when the law requires it, for example a valid court order, or to protect customers from fraud.
Each provider may only use the information to provide its service to us. If Cozy Tumbler were ever sold or merged, customer information would transfer to the new owner under the same protections, and we would tell you.
Photos of other people and pets
Photo tumblers often show more than one person: grandchildren at the beach, a couple on their wedding day, a whole team at a work party. When you upload or send a photo, you confirm that you have the right to use it and, where it shows other adults, that they would be comfortable with it being printed on a gift. For photos of children, the order should come from a parent, guardian or a family member acting with their agreement. We look at each photo only as long as needed to check that it will print clearly and to place it on the design. We never publish customer photos, use them to train software, or show them in our advertising unless you have given us written permission for a specific use, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.
Gift orders and the recipient’s details
When you send a tumbler as a gift, you give us the recipient’s name and address so we can deliver it. We use those details only to ship that order and handle any delivery problem. We do not add recipients to marketing lists or contact them about other products. If the recipient later contacts us about a return or a damaged item, we use the details they give us only to resolve that request.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies that the shop needs to work. They are not used for advertising.
| Cookie type | Set by | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Cart and session | WooCommerce (our shop software) | Remembers what is in your cart and keeps checkout working |
| Login | WordPress | Keeps you signed in to your account |
| Security | Cloudflare | Tells real visitors apart from bots and blocks attacks |
| Payment | The payment provider at checkout | Prevents fraud during payment |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, the cart and checkout will not work.
How long we keep information
- Order records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically up to 7 years.
- Personalization photos: kept for 90 days after delivery so we can reprint if something goes wrong, then deleted. Ask us and we delete them sooner.
- Support messages: up to 3 years after your last message, so we can help with follow-up questions.
- Accounts: until you ask us to close your account.
- Server logs: short periods, for security purposes.
How we protect information
The whole site uses HTTPS encryption. Access to order data is limited to people who need it to do their job, admin accounts use strong passwords, and we keep our software up to date. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password for your account and never send card numbers or passwords by email. We will never ask you for them.
If a security incident affects your personal information, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (for example California and other US states, Canada, Australia or New Zealand), you have rights over your personal information. We offer the following to every customer, wherever you live:
- Access: ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to fix anything inaccurate, such as an old address.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your information, except records we must keep by law.
- Opt out of marketing: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or email us.
- No sale of data: we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of; you can still contact us about it.
- Complaints: you may contact your local privacy regulator, though we would appreciate the chance to help first.
To make a request, email support@cozytumbler.com from the address linked to your orders. We may ask you to confirm details of a recent order to verify your identity. We respond within 30 days and never charge for a reasonable request, and we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Children’s privacy
Many of our customers order kids tumblers with a child’s name, but the site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 13. Orders should be placed by an adult. Children’s names you include as personalization are used only to print the order. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International visitors
Cozy Tumbler is based in the United States and sells to customers in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Your information is processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. We apply the protections described in this policy to everyone.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change, for example if we add a payment provider or an analytics tool. The date at the top shows the latest version. For significant changes we will place a notice on the site or email customers with an account.
